✂️ Text Divider
Split long text into smaller chunks by characters, lines, paragraphs, words, or sentences. Insert custom separators between each chunk — perfect for social media posts, SMS, or any length-limited output. All in your browser, no upload, instant results.
About the Text Divider
This text divider runs entirely in your browser. Paste any long text, choose how to split it (by characters, lines, paragraphs, words, or sentences), set the chunk size, and add a custom separator between each chunk. The tool is perfect for breaking long content into social-media-friendly segments (e.g. 280-character Twitter posts), splitting text for SMS messages, or dividing a document into manageable sections. Nothing is uploaded — the splitting happens instantly with JavaScript on your device.
How it works
- Characters — The text is split every N characters, regardless of word boundaries. Useful for strict length limits (e.g. 280 for Twitter).
- Lines — The text is split by line breaks, grouping N lines per chunk. Preserves line structure within each chunk.
- Paragraphs — The text is split by blank lines (double newlines), grouping N paragraphs per chunk. Ideal for long articles.
- Words — The text is split by whitespace, grouping N words per chunk. Each chunk is rejoined with single spaces.
- Sentences — The text is split at sentence boundaries (., !, ?), grouping N sentences per chunk.

Frequently asked questions
Does this tool upload my text? No. All splitting happens locally in your browser. Your text never leaves your device.
How do I add a newline to the separator? Type \n in the separator field. It will be converted to an actual line break. Similarly, \t becomes a tab.
Does character mode break words? Yes — character mode splits at exactly N characters, even mid-word. If you want to avoid breaking words, use word or sentence mode instead.
Is there a length limit? The only limit is your browser's available memory. Even very long texts split instantly.
